Camden Market

Today was our first day with no plans – so we decided to head over to Camden Market.  This was our first London Market experience.  I know – sad, since our temporary apartment is just blocks away from Portobello Road!  We’re actually avoiding Portobello at the moment, as it is their famous Carnival right now – its CRAZY!  We’ll pop over at some point, but we’ve been told the parade will go right in front of our flat!

Anyways, back to Camden Market.  It’s beautiful!  Foodie PARADISE!  The market was bustling with people and bursting with smells of curry, garlic, meat and delicious sweets.  Every stall was completely different and we had such a hard time choosing what to try first.  The market is situated along Regent’s Canal and has a few sets of locks.  It’s a beautiful sight.  Wikipedia says ” It is the fourth-most popular visitor attraction in London, attracting approximately 100,000 people each weekend.”

Seriously – the food was amazing.  We ended up with chicken Paella which was fabulous.  We also tried a hand-crafted cream soda which was fun.  Here are some pictures of the gorgeous food!

It was a great kick-off to the London Markets for us.  I loved it.  I will definitely be seeking out all of the markets.  As a bonus – I was able to score an awesome Jamie Oliver pasta cookbook for only 5 GBP! SCORE!
