Tea + Kensington Gardens + Buckingham Palace

The weather in London was BEAUTIFUL yesterday.  What people have told us about the rain has definitely been true.  It usually sprinkles once or twice a day, and we even had two days in a row of proper rainfall. But yesterday – was PERFECT!

We started the day with our first High Tea experience.  We were advised to go to the Orangery for the best experience.  We were able to sit outside on the patio which was awesome.  The Orangery  is a garden pavilion that was built for Queen Anne in 1704.  It is so beautiful!  It’s set in the Kensington Gardens right in front of the Palace – so you can’t go wrong 🙂

The tea was great!  A little expensive, but totally worth the experience.  We each had a different tea, then we were presented with a beautiful tower of tea sandwiches, sweets and scones.  Everything was SO good!  It was all so beautiful, from the view to the plates to the food.  I highly recommend doing this once! I also discovered how much I enjoy hot tea!  Maybe I’ll lay off the coffee a little 🙂

gorgeous china great view :) me with my tea

After tea we explored the gardens.  Words can’t describe how beautiful everything, and unfortunately, I don’t have a fancy camera yet *ahem Dan – present idea!*  So even these photos don’t capture the beauty!  I’d say it’s best to just check them out in person 😉

After the gardens, we hopped on some Boris Bikes and biked over to Buckingham Palace.  In August and September, the queen is away at her summer home so the palace is open for tours.  You can only view the state rooms and you can’t take any photos inside.  It was really beautiful inside.  Hard to believe only 2 people live in there!!!
